Anyone working in the application of behavioral science to address organizational issues or holding an advanced degree in I/O psychology or related field (e.g., Human Resources, Organizational Behavior) is eligible to join METRO as an associate or regular member. We also offer discounted rates to students in I/O psychology or related graduate programs.

METRO is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. Membership dues are necessary to sustain annual overhead costs, including travel for speakers, space, food, and other operational expenses, as well as helping subsidize student fees to encourage involvement from the next generation of applied psychologists. Your support ensures we can continue to provide greater speakers, conversations, and development opportunities for all our members in years to come.

Associate Member - $125.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments Associate Members shall be individuals sharing the Association's purpose, and actively involved in the application of psychological principles in their work or research. These reflect any individual without a doctorate degree whose current interests or occupations are in the applied behavioral science.

Member - $125.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments Regular members hold a doctorate from an accredited college based on a program preparing them to apply the principles of Psychology in an organizational setting. Regular Members shall hold a doctorate from a regionally accredited institution, based on a program preparing them to apply the principles of psychology in an organizational work setting. Those individuals holding a doctorate in psychology from a similarly accredited institution whose experience as determined by the Secretary, as the authorized representative of the Membership Committee, similarly prepares them, may also be admitted as regular Members.

Regular Membership is also available to Associate Members who meet the following eligibility requirements:
1. Paid status as an Associate for a period of at least the past 5 consecutive years.
2. Engagement in professional activities, as demonstrated by research, teaching, and/or practice, which are related to the purpose of the organization. Such activities may be performed in a variety of settings, such as a private business or industry, educational institution, consulting firm, government agency, public service, foundation, or self-employment.
3. Submit a letter of nomination from a METRO Member who can attest to your professional activities, as demonstrated by research, teaching, and/or practice, which are related to the purpose of the organization. Such activities may be performed in a variety of settings, such as a private business or industry, educational institution, consulting firm, government agency, public service, foundation, or self-employment.
4. Have obtained a Master’s Degree from an accredited college based on a program preparing them to apply the principles of Psychology in an organizational setting.
5. Have attended three official meetings of METRO in the last five years.

Student Member - $50.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments Student membership is offered to individuals primarily occupied in a formal graduate program in Applied Psychology whose financial resources are limited. Membership and activity fees for Student Members will be subsidized by other classes of membership.
