| Welcome
to METRO!
The
Metropolitan New York Association for Applied Psychology (METRO)
was founded in 1939 as a not-for-profit professional association.
We are the oldest and largest local professional association
of applied psychologists in the U.S. METRO also takes pride
in serving as a role model for other applied psychology organizations
now operating in Chicago, Houston, Washington, D.C., Southern
California, and Arizona. We look back over the years with
gratitude to our numerous colleagues -- our members, distinguished
speakers, and officers -- all of whom contributed their time,
energy, and expertise to make METRO the dynamic organization
it is today.

Our
Last Meeting of the Season
Please join us on Tuesday,
June 30th for the final METRO meeting of the season.
We are fortunate to have two I/O psychologists who are currently
heading up HR and Talent Management functions at global companies
share with us their experiences leading their organizations’
in these critical capacities. They will share with us their
perspective on how their I/O background informs HR strategy
on the global management of talent, succession planning, work
engagement, and workplace metrics. We will gain insight into
what these HR leaders see as the most pressing issues and
challenges facing companies right now and how they see I/O
psychology being able to impact companies’ ability to
meet these challenges. Joining us will be Anthony
McBride, SVP of Human Resources at Bristol Myers Squibb, and
Bernard Bedon, EVP, Global Director of Talent and Innovation
at Starcom MediaVest Group,
Please note that this month’s
meeting will not be held at the Helmsley Hotel, but rather
will be held at the NYU Wasserman Career Center 133 E. 13th
Street, 2nd Floor (between 3rd and 4th Avenues).
